Holistic Fire Safety working with our partners Hull CC, designing and creating a beautiful garden for 2 foster children to enjoy
May 2025
Objectives
At Holistic Fire Safety, we’re proud to work closely with our partners and local organisations to make a meaningful impact in the communities we serve. Our commitment goes beyond fire safety — by reinvesting our social value locally, we help support vulnerable individuals and families, improve wellbeing, and contribute to creating safer, more inclusive environments.
The Initiative
We were asked to help create a garden space at a bungalow in Hull, soon to become home to two foster children with severe disabilities — children who had never before had the opportunity to play outside in a garden.
Our Contribution
With an Ofsted inspection scheduled for mid-May, we knew how important it was to complete the work in time. We designed a simple, safe, and fully accessible outdoor space, including wheelchair access, to ensure the children could enjoy it independently and safely.
The garden was completed and handed back to Hull City Council on 9th May — just in time for the inspection.
A Lasting Partnership

Hi Joanne
I wanted to drop you a line to say the biggest thank you for what you and your team have achieved in transforming our garden space. Thank you doesn’t nearly feel like enough.
I have popped in through the week of the work being done and your volunteers have never stopped, working relentlessly on turning what was a muddy bog into a beautiful, colourful and accessible space. As you know we provide care for children with profound, life limiting disabilities and you have created for them an accessible, colourful, sensory space in which they can safely enjoy the outdoors.
What you do to give back to the community is simply amazing! Thank you from my team, my children and myself.
